This is where I will post new information as I find it.

So Far, I have discovered the following:

Pose Genes: Each pose gene looks similar to this: XX1123123121212

First Byte: Direction (0 = Forward, 1=Backward, 2=Left, 3=Right, X=Keep Last, ?=Face Object creature is attending to, !=Face away from object creature is attending to (found only in flee))

Second Byte - On -- Various Body Parts in this order: Head, Body, Left Hip, Left Leg, Left Foot, Right Hip, Right Leg, Right Foot, Left Shoulder, Left Arm, Right Shoulder, Right Arm, Tail Base, Tail Tip

The number represents a pose:

0=Down,Low
1=Down
2=Straight
3=Up
4=Forward
5=Backward
X=Keep Last Position
?=Follow object creatire is attending to. This should only really be used on the head.

? is valid only on the head and direction. X is valid everywhere, and ! is only valid in direction.

Gait Genes: Ever wonder if it seems like the gait genes don't have all the information for the walking gait? The reason is because of the way a creature's poses work. In the C2 application, you can observe a creature moving from one pose to another by issuing the pose macro command. If you notice, the creature doesn't immediately jump to that pose, but takes some in-between steps before showing that pose. Gait genes work in a similar way. each of the eight parts of the gait is a pose. Creatures 2 handles the stuff in-between the sequenced poses, so you wind up with a somewhat smoother animation.

I believe this information to be accurate, however, like all people, I make mistakes, if you think I have made a mistake here, please email me. Thanks.
